family is native to the tropics, parts of Asia and the Mediterranean.
- They
thrive in sheltered conditions but will also grow on poor
soil.

number of oils from this family are hazardous although oils
used in aromatherapy such as Rosewood are very gentle.
- Generally
these essential oils tend to be anti fungal, antiviral with
tonic and stimulating properties.
- Often
the whole tree contains essential oils.
