Physiological Uses

  • Respiratory System - clears. Eases shortness of breath. Good for asthma and catarrh. Palliative for coughs, bronchitis and laryngitis
  • Astringent tonic to uterus - helps cystitis
  • Digestice System - Soothes digestion
  • Skin - gives new life to ageing skin, helps wrinkles. Helps heals stubborn wounds

Emotional Uses

Slows down breathing. Induces calmness - helps anxious and obsessional states linked to past. Comforting. Used in religious ceremonies due to it's claimed spiritual properties.

Points of Interest

Ancient Egyptians used it in their cosmetic facial preparations. Still used to this day in face creams for mature skin.
