Contra-Indications

An emmenagogue - should be avoided in pregnancy

Physiological Uses

  • Respiratory System - drying action against excessive mucus in the lungs. Helps bronchitis, colds and sore throats
  • Immune System - good for glandular fever
  • Dental - excellent for mouth and gum disorders eg. mouth ulcers
  • Diestive System - acts as a stomach tonic, stimulates appetite and eases flatulence
  • Reproductive System - helps scanty periods and thrush
  • Antiseptic, anti inflammatory

Emotional Uses

Helps if feeling weak and apathetic but can also cool heated emotions

Stimulates white blood corpuscles and invigorates the immune system
